DetailsAboutRate It

When you are installing SAS Enterprise Miner and are prompted to provide the account credentials for the single-user identity, the following warning message might appear:

Warning
The Password is invalid.
OK

In the SASMeta_MetadataServer_date_time.log file, you might see the following entry:

INFO [00000759] :SYSTEM@AC31-345-24E6C - Error authenticating user
mymachine\Sandy in function LogonUser.
Error 1385 (Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested
logon type at this computer.

Note: To view the SAS® Metadata Server log, navigate to your-configuration-directory\your-level-directory\SASMeta\MetadataServer\Log (for example, c:\SAS\EMDesktop\Lev1\SASMeta\MetadataServer\Logs).

This warning can occur when the password for your user ID is incorrect or the account does not have the appropriate user rights assignment.

To determine whether your user ID password is correct, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Select Run.
  3. Type cmd.
  4. Click OK.
  5. At the command prompt, type runas /your-user:domain-or-machine-name\your-user-ID "notepad" (for example, runas /user:mymachine\sandy "notepad").
  6. Press ENTER.
  7. At the next prompt, type your password, and then press ENTER.

If Notepad opens, then the password is correct for the user ID. If Notepad does not open, then the password is incorrect. Check that your password has not recently expired.

To determine whether your account has the proper user rights assignments, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start.
  2. Select Run.
  3. Type secpol.msc. The Local Security Policy window appears.
  4. Select Local PoliciesUser Rights Assignment.

In the right pane of the User Rights Assignment window, check that your user ID is included in the following areas:

  • Double-click Access this computer from the network. Check that your user ID or Everyone is listed. If your user ID is not listed, add it by clicking the Add User or Group button.

Also in the right pane, check that your user ID is not listed in these two settings:

  • Double-click Deny log on as a batch job. If your user ID is listed in the properties window that appears for this setting, select it, and then click the Remove button.
  • Double-click Deny access to this computer from the network. If your user ID is listed in the properties window that appears for this setting, select it, and then click the Remove button.
